About Our Veterinary Team

Dr. Erica Parthum, VMD
Owner of Brunswick Veterinary Clinic.
Dr. Erica Parthum graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.
She completed a rigorous small animal medicine and surgery internship at Red Bank Veterinary
Hospital in New Jersey. She continued to work at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital as a general
practitioner for 2.5 years before moving back to New England and has practiced in Brunswick, Maine,
since 2002. She lives with her husband, three children and various pets and enjoys reading, hiking, and kayaking.
Dr. Parthum loves being a part of the community and sharing her love of veterinary medicine. She
often gives veterinary presentations to schools and youth group organizations.

Dr. Angelica Stasolla, DVM
Dr. Angelica Stasolla graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She practiced a mixture of large and small animal medicine for many years in Vermont and moved to Maine in 2015 with her husband and two sons.
She has a cat named Pancake MacMuffin and has recently started learning Irish fiddle. She enjoys cooking and quilting. In veterinary medicine, she has an especial interest in dentistry and feline medicine.

Dr. Kevin Cowan, DVM
Dr. Kevin Cowan has lived in Brunswick with his wife and three daughters for 20 years. He is a double Jumbo, graduating from Tufts University with a BS in Biology in 1987 and Tufts Cummings Veterinary School in 1991.
He started his career as a mixed animal practitioner in a large dairy-based practice, eventually focusing his attention on small animal medicine. Dr. Cowan worked in referral-based small animal hospitals, finally transitioning to 15 years as an emergency veterinarian at several local emergency clinics.
In his spare time, he dabbles with raising farm animals in borrowed spaces.

Dr. Susan Hayhurst, DVM
Dr. Susan Hayhurst started working at Brunswick Veterinary Clinic in 2020. She graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Biology and discovered Maine during graduate school, where she received her M.S. in marine biology from the University of Maine. After practicing marine research and education in Maine for several years, she attended veterinary school at Tufts University. She was happy to later return to Maine with her husband Kyle and her twin daughters.
At Brunswick Veterinary Clinic, she is always excited to help an exotic animal (bird, reptile, amphibian, or small mammal) in addition to her cat and dog patients. She does special training in these fields and is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV), the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians (AEMV), and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV). Susan has interests in conservation and wildlife medicine and volunteers with Marine Mammals of Maine and Animal Refuge League. She enjoys writing, painting, and outdoor activities and has two cats, a dog, a cockatiel, two rats, and a guinea pig.

Emily Chaloult: Customer Service Representative
“I take pride in being a team player and helping out anywhere I can in the clinic. I also do a lot of the artwork you’ll see around the clinic (specifically the paintings on the windows)! In my spare time I like to play video games, go fishing, spend time with my kids, draw or make art, listen to and make music, find trails to explore and hang out with all my pets.”

“I love being able to help folks and create long-term relationships with them and their pets. From enjoying the crazy puppies and kittens to the dear senior years. Outside of work I enjoy church, photography and talking about my granddaughter, Annie. I love spending time with family, friends and our many pets.”

Jenn Gilman: Inventory Manager
“I pride myself in accuracy and organization. I make sure we have everything we need to keep our patients happy and healthy! In my free time I love to be with my family and animals, fishing, boating, target practice, or a day at the beach.”

“I love connecting with each of my patients and helping them feel comfortable and safe during what can be a pretty scary time. I care for every pet that comes through our doors as if they were part of my own family. I spend a lot of time outside of work going for hikes and looking for cool rocks to add to my collection. I enjoy gardening, video games, taking care of my animals (including my foster reptiles), and most of all, spending time with my kiddo! Someday, I would love to start beekeeping!”
