The Veterinary Clinic has been a fixture in Brunswick for over 60 years. We are located on upper Maine Street past Bowdoin College. We would love to see you and your pet for whatever he or she needs. Whether it's wellness care, an ear infection or just a few cookies and an ear scratch, The Veterinary Clinic is a one-stop shop for all your pet's needs!
Welcome to The Veterinary Clinic! Our lobby has partitions so that our shy patients can have a safe place away from the more gregarious dogs that may be visiting. We have a friendly front staff that love to chat and many informative pamphlets to look through while you wait.
This is a view of room one. There is a great view out the window for cats, which serves as a great distraction! A lift table allows large animals to be safely elevated if need be.
Our second exam room is equipped similarly to Exam 1, but without a window. While the view isn't as good, this feature makes it safer for Dr. Wood to examine birds and makes it easier for our doctors to do eye exams and other things for which low light is needed.
Just outside our exam rooms is our lab area. We are fully equipped with Idexx laboratory machines that allow us to run bloodwork in the hospital including complete blood counts (CBCs), Chemistry profiles, Electrolytes as well as many other useful tests.
This is where we spend the bulk of our time. The treatment area is equipped with two large sinks that can double as tables. We do many vaccines, blood draws, and clean-ups back here. We also use this area when we perform dental cleanings and prepare for surgery. It is conveniently located between the kennel area and our exam rooms.
Our operating room (OR) is equipped with state of the art anesthetic machines and monitoring equipment that help keep your pet safe during surgery. Our surgical table is heated to keep those little guys warm and toasty too! A technician is present at all times during surgery to monitor your pet's vitals throughout the surgical procedure
As you can see, our kennel area is located just beyond the treatment area. This allows us to keep a close eye on all hospitalized patients whether they are recovering from anesthesia or on IV fluids for the day. Our techs are always a bark or meow away from taking care of your pet.
We have digital radiography which allows us to obtain radiographs/xrays and view them within minutes. It also allows us to easily share with other clinics via email
We have a state of the art ultrasound machine which allows us to safely measure and asess the health of many internal organs.
